and now, for some short age-related funs because my birthday is tomorrow!

A) is for A birthday:

“you look great for your age!”
— fun thing to say to a baby

also, everyone looks great for their age because everyone looks great because looks are subjective so why don’t we all just say that everyone looks great or even better let’s not say anything about it at all, except to a baby when they don’t even know what we’re talking about but eventually when they do let’s definitely not talk too much about their appearance. let’s just love them, and do that for babies of all ages. you’re great. i love you! happy birthday to me!

B) is for Birthday!:

"only the good die young"
— billy joel, who is 74 now

i love billy joel and even if it were TRUE that only the good die young, it doesn’t mean that ALL of the good die young, so billy joel can still be good even if he’s older. ALSO, one possible reason that only the good die young (if that’s true) is that if you die young, you didn’t have that much time alive to do bad things. like christopher nolan says in the dark knight, “you either die a hero or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain.” that’s basically the flipside of “only the good die young.”

ps ANOTHER reason that only the good die young is that everyone is good. you’re good! you’re great! i love you! happy birthday to me!

C) is for ways you can Celebrate my birthday!:

— call a loved one (or love a called one)
— donate to a cause you care about (or one that i care about!)
— spend time w/a nice animal (e.g. a pet, a nearby bird, yourself, anyone!)
— enjoy music or art or a book or something (or enjoy not enjoying things!)
— do whatever you were going to anyway or whatever you want (or don’t!)
