it's about the journal, not the destination (journaling about journaling)
also it can be about the destination.
dear friends, family, fans, followers, friends again,
i am grateful to/for you!
thank you for being here/you!
as you may know, i generally use this space to share short jokes, poems, and other quick word units of fun.
sometimes, i use it to share slightly longer pieces i’ve written, often in response to questions other folks have asked me. here’s the story of this one:
A) i publicly posted some journal entries online.
B) someone wrote back a nice thing and asked a question about my journaling.
C) i wrote back some things that i thought might be enjoyable to share more widely, if people wanted to read what is essentially a journal entry about journaling.
here’s how it went:
ME: *posted journal entry*
THEM: This inspires me to get journaling again. Thank you! I have a lot of big exciting changes going on (finally, after a lot of paying my dues), and I don’t want to forget a minute of it!!
What motivates you to stay disciplined in documenting your journey?
ME: *wrote the below list back, like a journal-list, going on a journal journey*
1) i guess i would say that i'm not Always as motivated at documenting the journey as possible. which i think is good, to be forgiving, in case a day goes by where i don't end up journaling, or a month, or years. you know how sometimes if you haven't talked to someone in a while, and then it gets longer and longer and you feel like it makes it more and more difficult to reach out? (maybe?) well, it seems sort of like that sometimes. like, if i can't do EVERYTHING, why bother doing SOMETHING? but i definitely can't do everything. and i don't want to do Nothing. so, SOMETHING it is. so i guess the first answer is, i'm motivated to do it, because i want to do something, and it IS something that i can do. even if i don't do it all the time. the more i do it, the more i'm doing it.
