Sherlock Holmes knows his letters of the alphabet! And also, here are some funny things that my grandma said in response to things that I said.

dear friends, family, fans, fellow folks, friends again, feveryone,

i’m grateful that you’re here!
thank you for being here and being you!
and now, three silly things i posted to social media and my grandma iris’s responses to them, followed by a really fun poster for the shows i’m doing this weekend!

A) once, i posted this to social media:

thinking of starting a hip-hop group called Nice by Nurture.

and my grandma iris
(who i don’t think ever listened to Naughty by Nature or ANY hip-hop)
commented back
“Sign me up.”
and i think that’s fantastic.

B) another time, i asked this question on social media:

‪what’s your favorite thing you did recently?‬
‪no need to answer but seems like it could be fun to think about if you want to.
and if you don’t want to, not doing it could be your favorite most recent thing!

and my grandma iris commented
“Boo-hoo. I didn't have any fun.”
and i responded
“seems like you DID just have fun writing that.”
and she wrote
“U R correct. Facebook is my fun!”
and all of that is MY fun now! (and also yours, if you’d like.)

C) and finally, i once posed this experiment on social media:

i've been thinking about crowdsourcing my comedy. do you think that's…

1) a good idea
2) a bad idea
3) a just right idea
4) a fairy tale
5) an ancient myth
6) possibly confusing crowdsourcing and crowdfunding?

and my grandma iris commented back
“Do whatever will give you a good retirement package.”
and i wrote
“having a loving grandmother is all the retirement package i need!”
and she said
“That doesn't sound too good. Hard to live on Social Security when you get old.” and i responded
“well, the kinds of jokes i tell don't automatically correspond with specific retirement packages, so since it's impossible to know the future, i'm going to stick with the plan of loving my grandmother in the present.”
and she concluded
“That I like!”
