new kid on the writer's block!
where my writer's blockheads at? a friend asked for advice on coping with writer's block, and i offered it to them AND NOW TO YOU. from cope to copacetic!
dear friends, dear readers, dear everyone,
i’m glad that you’re here. thank you!
usually i use this space to share short jokes, poems, and other quick funs.
sometimes, i use it to share longer pieces i’ve written, like this one that i wrote in response to an aspiring comedian friend who asked me a question about “how to cope with writer’s block.” i hope you find it some combination of enjoyable and meaningful:
how do i cope with writer’s block?
thanks for asking!
i would say that there are many ways to write, that i would recommend.
one thing i like to do is use 750words.com.
each day, usually first thing, i wake and i write. sometimes it is creative. sometimes it is a journal. sometimes it is a letter to a loved one. sometimes it is stream of consciousness. sometimes it is song lyrics or poetry. always it is writing. you could do this.
(i like that particular website because it encourages me to write a certain amount, immediately. sometimes i write a lot more, of course. but certainly, in the face of "writer's block," i like that there is a place where you are not blocked from writing. maybe you won't immediately come up with what you Want to write, but you Definitely won't do that if you Don't write. and so if you Do write, write anything, it will be more likely to be what you Want to write, compared with if you are Not writing.)
