as you may know, i often share short jokes and other fun units here

but this week i won’t JUST be doing that. i’ll also be sharing a fun interaction with my grandmother that i shared about a year ago with paid subscribers only but now i make free for all! please enjoy!
my grandma iris died in march 2020 at the age of 91 and i’m very grateful that she was in my life for so many of those years. i’m also grateful to STILL have her in my life, via facebook comments that live on forever.
and comment she did!

for example, on this day 6 years ago, i posted this:

someone named Анна replied, and i replied back, and then my grandma got in on the action. here’s how it went:
ME: i love you. unless you don't want me to, in which case i still do but secretly so you feel the way you want. shhhh.
Анна: Dude. That's the worst. Don't be a puppy.
ME: like i said, i won't if you don't want me to
Анна: No no no no no. You are setting yourself up for agony. The love don't come back your way you keep it moving. Otherwise you're letting a chick trample every last crumb of your self esteem. Cold fact.
ME: i appreciate if you're trying to help. but i've never had more love and potential for love in my life than i do right now. and i'm also just fine in the self esteem department. i'm not sure where you're coming from, but i wish you well.
Анна: Haha, good! You can just say f off Anna you're an idiot. I projected. Apologies.
ME: thanks! not my style. this is more my style. much appreciated!
IRIS: Anna Myq is a comedian. Laugh.
ME: it's true. though i am also a human and loving everyone is not a joke. also anna, meet my grandmother iris who i love.
Анна: Aww, hi Iris!
IRIS: hello. Sorry i called you Anna. I am very old and don't see so good AHHA
Анна: It is Anna. I was impressed you got it. I wrote my name in Cyrillic letters and facebook won't let me change it back for 60 days. But it is Anna. Very nice to meet you. I love the name Iris.
IRIS: Iris is out of style I guess. I am the only one left I think. But thank you. That I got Anna was an accident. I thought that was what it said with my old eyes. You know my wonderful grandson MYQ?

sincerely, i’m glad they reached out and had this ultimately beautiful exchange with my grandmother and me, and i’m glad to be able to share it here.

A) around the same time my grandmother was making that new friend, i shared this photo online with this caption: ”for halloween i went as this dog and this dog went as me. we both nailed it, see?”
B) ALSO around that same time, i posted this photo with the caption “fall fell. fill. feel full.” and my grandma responded “beautiful. Miss that here” (since she moved to florida from NJ) so i wrote “come back!” and she said “No. Too cold in winter, and can't afford 2 places any more.” so there you have it!
