yoga jokes for all the folks!
happy june, friends! here are some jokes and thoughts to stretch out your mind and spirit and even your body if you want!
dear friends, family, fans, folks,
i’m grateful that you’re here.
thank you for being here and being you.
and now, for some jokes and thoughts about yoga and more!
A) yoga or no-go?:
i'll do all kinds of contortions to get out of doing yoga.
in college, i took a yoga class to fulfill a gym requirement. also, i had heard that some people enjoyed doing yoga and i thought “maybe i’ll be one of those people.” are you ready for the twist in this story? i didn’t love the twists of my body. surprise! i love a good twist of the mind, though. and recently, i learned that the word “yoga” comes from a word meaning “yoke, attach, harness, join,” which i believe is so because yoga is meant to involve the joining of the mind and the body, which i hear might be connected in some way. so if mind and body are connected and i love mind-twisters, perhaps the twist ending of this story is that i’ll try yoga again soon.
B) hell o’there!:
"i'll see you in hell! -- mean person
"i'll see you inhale!" -- yoga teacher (who is also a person)
one thing that i really like about this mean person i’ve invoked here is this: apparently, THEY are planning on being in hell as well. because they’ll see you there. and that’s pretty nice. i mean, i suppose there’s a reading of it where they’ll be in heaven and looking at you who are in hell through some heaven-grade binoculars or opera glasses or some such, but that seems like a bit of a stretch. i think the standard reading of “i’ll see you in hell” implies that both parties will be in hell. i bet being in hell with someone else is better than being there alone. even if it’s someone who’s not your favorite. like, if you’re at a party and you don’t know anyone, sometimes even seeing a jerk could feel like a saving grace. because you’re in it together. connected. joined. yoga’d! look, another twist ending!
C) Om, g:
a fun name
for a yoga studio
could be "There's No Place Like Om."
this name would also work for a meditation studio! and while yoga may be in my future, meditation is absolutely my jam currently. though i understand why some folks are hesitant about it, because i used to be one such folk! it’s my jam NOW, but previously i felt my schedule was too jam-packed to add something else. i have too many jams packed in here! and that’s still true, i’ve got a lot of things that are my jam jam-packed in my life, but a cool thing about meditation, for me, is that it’s more something that helps me SUBTRACT stress from my life, rather than ADD one more thing, which is how i originally conceived of it. there truly is no place like “om.”
PS this is not an advertisement for meditation, though you can’t spell “advertisement” without “meditate”! point is, i’m not receiving any kickbacks from Big Med! this is all ME. thus ends this meditation me-dictation.
PPS i don’t say “om” when i meditate, generally. FINAL TWIST ENDING! or maybe that wasn’t really much of a twist ending. i just wanted there to be one. so, no twist ending. WHICH IS THE ULTIMATE TWIST ENDING!
and that’s all the yoga fun for today!
now, some questions for YOU:
1) how are you doing? how are you feeling? what’s new and good?
2) do you do yoga? do you love it? what’s your relationship with it like?
3) how do you feel about hell? or other people? or parties?
4) do YOU have any fun ideas for yoga studio names?
5) how are you doing/feeling NOW?
