past, present, future, AND MORE!
the "more" refers to jokes which transcend time itself, which is what i hope you'll find in here.
dear friends in the here and now 1,
i am very grateful that you are here now.
thank you for being here and thank you for being now.
and now, here are some jokes about the past, present, and/or future!
A) a is for a joke i wrote in the past:
tearing down monuments to a racist past, what's next?
building monuments to less racist things?
some other non-monument-related progress? 2
B) b is for bringing up the present:
some people are like
"slavery was a long time ago, why are you still bringing it up?"
and also
"it's very important to consider what the founders would have thought about this thing happening today" 3
C) c is for c-ing the future:
we're all going to die some day, but as an optimist,
i just hope that we don't all die on the SAME day. 4
and that’s all the past, present, and future for today!
if you’re interested in any LATERings, here are some pasts, presents, and futures where i’ll be headlining some comedy shows in times to come:
8/19 (tomorrow!): Cabernet Frank’s in Parksville, NY
9/8: The Idiot Box in Greensboro, NC
9/11: Goodnights in Raleigh, NC
9/15: Rosh Hahaha at Hillel FIU (a fundraiser)
9/23: ABQ Funny Fiesta in Albuquerque, NM
9/30: Albany Veg Fest in Cohoes, NY
12/2-3: Vermont Comedy Club in Burlington, VT
and that’s all the LATER for NOW!
thank you for being here through all these times and timelessnesses!
and thanks to everyone who came out to all my shows in denver last weekend, which is the place my wonderful girlfriend Rini took this wonderful photo of me at wonderful Meow Wolf (if you can go to a Meow Wolf, i recommend it highly!)
love to you and yours and all, friends!
as well as those in the there and later, or any combination
as it turns out, monuments needn’t be all that monumental
i think perhaps we ought change our policy from “founders keepers, losers weepers”
my glass is more than half full of optimism!
I went to Meow Wolf in Denver recently too and it was amazing!
i will never get past how good these jokes make my future - what a present they are
