the iris archives, part 1
my grandma iris is/was the best, and i've decided to start sharing some fun interactions i've had with her here
dear friends, family, folks who already loves my grandma iris and those who are about to start falling in love,
hi! i’m very grateful that you’re here. thank you so much.
as you may know, i usually use this platform to share short jokes here and there, and sometimes additional other things.1 today is an Other Things day.
my grandma iris died in march 2020 at the age of 91 and i’m very grateful to have known her in life for more than four decades. and thanks to the magical miracle of technology, i’m grateful to STILL have her in my life, mainly via facebook comments.
she was on facebook and boy did she comment. and for once, i’m very grateful for all the email notifications that facebook has sent me over the years because it has allowed me to search my archives for times iris commented on my jokes and posts and such, and i decided that i’m going to start sharing some of them here.2
so, here we go!
on this day 5 years ago, i saw this sign, took a picture of it, and posted it on facebook along with the caption “post on the web.”
words on a sign? post on the web. i thought it was cute and fun.
then my grandma iris commented on the post:
“Amazing. How do we know that that is words on a sign?”
HOW DO WE KNOW THAT THAT IS WORDS ON A SIGN?
it just delighted and continues to delight me to no end.
and that’s not all! there IS no end to the delight in sight (at least not yet!) …3
