what it is ain't exactly clear
dear friends, fans, family, folks with or without thumbs,
i’m grateful that you’re here.
i give you all the thumbs up possible.
and now, for some silly thoughts about thumbs.
A) you up? 1:
in a text conversation, if you click "thumbs up" on the last thing a person says and then stop communicating, you're good.
in person, if you respond with only a thumbs up and then walk away, you're weird. 2
B) people used to thumb their nose at thumbs:
"i'm all thumbs"
used to mean you were clumsy
but now it could mean
you're very skilled at communicating via cell phone.
C) toeing the line with a line about toes:
the big toe
is the big toe
but the thumb
isn't the big finger.
